The Work Safely at Heights 1-day course provides the training needed to obtain a Work Safely at Heights (CPCCCM2012). Upon passing the course, you’ll be certified to work at heights in any industry where these working conditions are found. Successfully completing this course will allow you to inspect, fit and use height safety equipment whilst working at heights.

Course Overview

There are no entry requirements for this course. This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to work safely on construction sites where the worker has the potential to fall from one level to another. This unit of competency does not cover the erection of scaffold or work platforms, but it does include identifying and reporting common faults with scaffold or work platform systems. Work at heights is undertaken in a range of construction work, including new construction, renovation, refurbishment and maintenance. This unit also applies to workers in other industries who need to control the two separate risks associated with people and objects falling from heights.

Training Package Requirements:

There are no entry requirements for this course.

RTO Entry Requirements:
  • ALO only accepts persons 18 years old and over for enrolment into courses/ units of competency.
  • Be physically fit be able to access equipment and work at heights
  • Have access to safety boots, gloves, Hi-Viz shirt for practical activities
  • ALO recommends that participants should have a basic understanding of English language skills to fully comprehend the course material.
  • Completion of year 10 would be an advantage with achieved equivalent level of language, literacy and numeracy skills. Where this has not occurred, an interview will be conducted to ascertain if there is a potential level of assistance required to assist the student.
  • Applicants are to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) This is obtainable from usi.gov.au If a USI is not supplied and verified with usi.gov.au a statement of attainment cannot be issued to the student.
  • For courses undertaken in 12 months or less, students will be invoiced the full course fee (including any other essential fees associated with the course).
